Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) says that it has not imposed any ban on showing PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s speech.

The meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting was held at the PTV headquarters under the chairmanship of Chairman Committee Center Faisal Javed. It is decided by the channels themselves.

On this, Senator Faisal Javed said that assure that Imran Khan’s speech will be broadcast on all channels, to which Chairman PEMRA said that PEMRA cannot order the channels to show the speech of the head of a political party. On this occasion, Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb claimed that in one year no channel was shut down, no program and no one broke the nose bone or ribs.

Senators invited media owners and proposed to compare press freedom in the past and present. Senator Irfan Siddiqui said that the whole story of past and present periods should come to the committee.

Reacting to this, Fawad Chaudhry wrote that after Senator Faisal Javed opened the drum of freedom of media in Pakistan today in the Committee of Information, Maryam Aurangzeb and Irfan Siddiqui should be drowned in water. Everyone is not banned, but the channel itself is not showing, I have not seen so many liars in my life.
