Did Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif get 160 votes instead of 180?


Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif won the vote of confidence by getting 180 votes. It is being claimed that PTI defectors have also voted for him, numbering around 22.

Currently, the number of government members in the National Assembly is 174 while one member of the assembly Maulana Shakoor has passed away. Various journalists are claiming that Shahbaz Sharif has got the support of only 160 members instead of 172.

Fawad Chaudhry said that Shehbaz Sharif has lost the trust of the majority of the members, the votes of twenty members of the assembly who belong to Tehreek-e-Insaf cannot be counted in favor of the Prime Minister.

He further said that therefore Shahbaz Sharif got the support of only 160 members of the assembly instead of only 172 members, this vote today is a big defeat for Shahbaz Sharif and PDM. Journalist Asadkharal has also made this kind of claim. Various analysts and social media users mocked and said that Shahbaz Sharif has not proved the majority and that the establishment has a hand in giving him a vote of confidence.
